feeling so weak and sluggish and unmotivated. i tried to run on my dad’s treadmill and couldn’t push past the usual wall i always face when i start - that initial discomfort that goes away once i’m in my rhythm. right now i’m sitting here and my legs are fine and i want to run.. but as soon as i step on the treadmill i want to get off. i don’t know if it’s...

bum day
went shopping and then fell asleep on the couch for 3 hours..
didn’t run or do any other exercise.
i’ll call it a rest day to make myself feel a little better about it.
tomorrow: must run! i’m driving out to PA to visit my dad for the weekend (if this hurricane doesn’t stop me). it’s going to be a hectic weekend but hopefully i’ll be able to make some time...

i saw the forecast and drove over to the beach asap so i could get some mileage in before the storm hit. let me tell you.. i felt pretty badass - running along the ocean, dark skies, thunder rolling in the distance, and cracks of lightning (i did turn around once the lightning started for safety reasons). i felt like if i had a photographer there taking pictures, i could be in some motivational...

went for a beach run today
I LOVE RUNNING ON THE BEACH. i forgot how much i love to do so - barefoot, of course. i feel so fortunate to live right on the shore. today i hung out with one of my best friends and we walked over the bridge to the beach and ran together. it was so so nice! plus running on sand has a lot of great benefits:
requires more energy (burns more calories)
strengthens lower body more (especially...

drunk workout
last night 2 of my friends friends and i got fairly drunk.
and then we worked out.
and it was so much fun! burned off some of those alcohol calories, though probably didn’t make too big of a dent in what we consumed…
next time: drunk p90x

post-run thoughts
rain is the best running weather. when i looked outside and saw it was raining, my first thought was “yes, perfect for running!”. it’s so refreshing, not to mention significantly cooler - you don’t get that sticky sweaty effect because the rain wipes it all away. mmm i wish it could always be raining for my runs.
which is why i’m extra disappointed at my time....
