my 8 mile run was killer.
and i don’t mean i killed it.  i mean it almost killed me.
ran 8.09 in 1:21:26, making my overall average pace 10:04.. about 30 seconds above the pace i was aiming for this run.  i just didn’t feel strong like i expected after two days off - one of rest, one of snowboarding.
one problem was the weather.  some parts of my run it was sunny and the wind wasn’t blowing and i was way too warm… and then the wind would start blowing and then suddenly i was too cold.  i was pretty uncomfortable for most of the run.
disappointments aside, i’m still glad i got out there and did it.  i’ve never even planned to run 8 miles before.. the only other time i ran this far i did it by accident.  and starting next week, my longs runs will all mark ‘the farthest i’ve ever run’ so that’s all pretty exciting!
